A large red-brick civic building with cream trim, a central white columned portico with "CITY HALL" lettered on the entablature, a flagpole with an American flag, and a white drum and dome with a clock and cupola, seen across an empty curving asphalt drive and parking lot. Autumn-tinted trees and a small "Keep Right" sign are in the middle distance. Overcast sky.

The short version

  • Free: the downtown deck at 1056 Alpharetta Street (during Green Street construction), the City Hall lot, the Cultural Arts Center lot, Old Mill Park and some side streets.
  • Paid: Canton Street between Magnolia and Norcross Streets, Elizabeth Way, East Alley and the East Alley lot, under a pilot that runs through Dec. 31, 2026.
  • Always start a session in a paid space, even during the free hours. The fine is $20.

The downtown deck

The City opened its deck at 1056 Alpharetta Street (SR 9) on May 4, 2026. Enter from Alpharetta Street by Kevin Cash Memorial Drive. During Green Street construction there is one entrance and two exits, all on Kevin Cash Memorial Drive. Take a ticket at the entry gate; the exit gate reads your license plate, and if it does not open, scan the ticket barcode. Hours are not published.

The City gives 394 spaces in its May and July 2026 posts and 395 in an older March 2026 post, as did Fox 5 and WSB-TV. We use the newer 394.

The City closed Green Street from Cherry Way to Alpharetta Street for about six months from May 4 and expected the street to open in fall 2026. It has not published a date when deck charges would start, so check the City’s deck post before a long stay. The Green Street gravel lot across from the deck is closed for construction staging.

The paid zones are Canton Street between Magnolia Street and Norcross Street, Elizabeth Way between Canton Street and Alpharetta Highway, East Alley between Canton Street and Norcross Street, and the 18-space East Alley Parking Lot. Since Aug. 1, 2026 the first two hours are free when you start parking between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The City’s published rate table reads:

If you start parking between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

  • 0 to 2 hours: no charge
  • 2 to 3 hours: $3
  • 3 to 4 hours: $6
  • 4 to 5 hours: $9
  • 5 to 6 hours: $12
  • 6 to 7 hours: $15
  • 7 to 8 hours: $18
  • More than 8 hours: $24

If you start parking before 8:00 a.m. or after 3:00 p.m.

  • 0 to 1 hour: $3
  • 1 to 2 hours: $6
  • 2 to 3 hours: $9
  • 3 to 4 hours: $12
  • 4 to 5 hours: $15
  • 5 to 6 hours: $18
  • More than 6 hours: $24

So an evening on Canton Street is paid from the start. The City also says a session must be started even during the no-charge period, parking is enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the longest stay is 24 hours. Two 30-minute no-charge spaces on Elizabeth Way, meant for a quick stop at a business, need no session.

How to pay

Scan the QR code or text the number on the sign near your space; no app is needed. Or use a kiosk at Canton Street and Elizabeth Way or along East Alley. Enter your plate and expected stay.

12 Oaks Parking runs the pilot for the City: (678) 973-0348. A ticket for an unpaid space is a $20 fine; pay or appeal at parkinginvoice.com or through the QR code on the notice, within 15 days. Source: the City’s July 30, 2026 parking post, FAQ updated Aug. 1.

Old rates still online

From May 15 to July 31, 2026 the pilot charged $2 an hour with a $16 daily maximum. The City’s May 8 post and a WSB-TV story still show those numbers. They were replaced on Aug. 1, 2026.

Free lots and streets

  • Roswell City Hall lot, 38 Hill Street: 436 spaces on the City map, at no cost. The City names it as free public parking for Alive in Roswell.
  • Roswell Cultural Arts Center lot, 950 Forrest Street: 84 spaces, free on the City map. The City’s former page said space may be limited during performances.
  • Vickery Creek Old Mill Park, 95 Mill Street: free parking, but the City warns it fills, especially on weekends.
  • Free street parking on the City map: Hill Street (30 spaces), Forrest Street (5), Mimosa Boulevard near Magnolia Street (17), and three spaces on Canton Street north of Norcross Street. Park Square Court at the Town Square (17 spaces) is listed with unlimited access and no cost given.

In March 2026 City Council put off any decision on charging at the City Hall and Cultural Arts Center lots until staff brought more data. No later change has been published.

Lots with no published cost

The City map shows a 77-space lot by the Town Square (still labelled Roswell Visitor Center, though the visitor center moved to 1099 Alpharetta Street) and a 100-space lot on Mimosa Boulevard, with no cost given. Private lots include the 600-space Southern Post deck, the 70-space Roswell Antique & Interiors lot (cost listed as “5” with no unit) and Gate City Brewing’s 50-space lot. Read the signs.

Event days

For Alive in Roswell, the City’s event map shows Elizabeth Way and Webb Street closing at 2 PM, the Antique & Interiors lot at 3:30 PM and Canton Street at 5 PM. Ride-hail pick-up and drop-off is on Mimosa Boulevard, nearest address 37 Magnolia Street; do not use Canton Street or Alpharetta Highway. The City’s listing for the Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026 make-up date says free public parking is at City Hall. Its older festival hub still lists the Green Street lot, which is closed.

On market Saturdays (Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 are the last 2026 dates), the farmers market sets up behind City Hall, and its site lists the deck and Mimosa Boulevard as alternate parking. Full dates are on the events calendar.

Accessible parking

The City publishes no accessible-space counts for the deck, the paid zones or the downtown lots. Resident & Business Services, on the ground floor of City Hall, has a single entrance and designated accessible parking. The City map also lists four PTV/Veteran motorcycle-only spaces on Canton Street.

River parking

Riverside Park at 575 Riverside Road is closed for renovation until summer 2027. The City sends drivers to Ace Sand Park (705 Riverside Road) and Don White Memorial Park (925(B) Riverside Road), not Azalea Park or Roswell River Landing. National Park Service lots need a $5 day pass. See river access.

  • Roswell City Hall is at 38 Hill Street, Roswell, GA 30075. The City's main phone is (770) 641-3727, and City Hall hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. City of Roswell: home page (footer)
